Dr Sally Wortley

Lead Consumer Evidence and Engagement Unit - Department of Health and Aged Care

Professional Bio

Dr Sally Wortley has a PhD in the field of health economics, health technology and decision-making. She is currently the lead for the Consumer Evidence and Engagement Unit within the Office of Health Technology Assessment (Australian Department of Health). She started her career in the disability services sector before commencing work as an evaluator of health technologies both here in Australia for the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) and in the UK for the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE). She has for many years been an active member of the HTA international patient and citizens interest group and has particular interest how the perspectives and preferences of patients and the wider public are considered in health policy and decision-making.
